Art That Touches The Soul are the words that I use to describe the images that emanate from my life experiences. Each work of art embodies a portion of me.

Creating art, invigorates me and allows me to escape into a world of, “what ifs.” This is a place where I am not aware of my surroundings. I hear a gentle voice saying, “use red here, mix in a little orange. Sometimes the voice does not make since, but I have found when I listen, it’s always right.

Acrylic paints on canvas are my chosen medium. Each piece begins with a canvas on which I apply black gesso. Often after the gesso is applied, the canvas sits on the easel for several days, waiting for an inspired image to form in my mind.
The paintings begin with a loose sketch.

The focus is strong, determined spiritual African American women. These women represent the makings of the core of their families, communities, and the world, imparting wisdom and love and a solid foundation for future generations to lean on.
