As an African American female visual artist, I venture into a realm where the conventional palette of skin tones is replaced by varying shades of blue. This choice is not just an aesthetic one, but a deliberate step towards reimagining the way we perceive identity and race. By portraying all individuals in shades of blue, I aim to strip away the preconceived notions and biases often associated with skin color.
Deeply fascinated by the intricate tapestry of human communication, my work is a journey through the symbols and languages that have defined cultures across various epochs. My artistic exploration delves into the profound ways in which humanity has expressed its deepest aspirations, beliefs, fears, and narratives. Each piece is a confluence of ancient scripts, contemporary symbols, and sometimes, the imagined languages of the future.
